Abstract

The historical phenomenon of modernism and the Modern Age still spark interest in our day. The challenges of the past come to life in the context of the challenges of the present. What is novelty, what is modernity? These notions remain pertinent, because the idea of “the new” itself and the attitude to it vary from culture to culture. Although the changes happening in one corner of the world resonate in other parts of the world, not all of them become global due to resistance caused by certain customs or development interests of different countries. Therefore, it is interesting to know how experts in philosophy and cultural studies assess the importance of modernism in such a developed and yet loyal to its tradition country like Iran.
