Results of MIBF 2016

Last Sunday, on 11th September, the Moscow International Book Fair came to its end. Over 5 days it brought together about 400 publishers and endless number of visitors and readers. The exhibition featured different academic, educational, religious and children’s books.

The Islamic Culture Research Foundation and the Sadra publishing house were located at the booth A34. Over 100 books, including 12 new ones, were presented: “Persia: the history of undiscovered land” by A.B. Gromov and S.N. Tabai (“Traces of times” series), “The last Salar” by M.K. Mazinani (“Iranian bestseller” series), collection of articles “Feminology issues” (“Religion in the modern world” series), “Treatise on calligraphers and artists” by Kazi Ahmad b. Husain Al-Husaini Kumi (“Classics of Oriental studies” series), fantastic sketches “Signs of the Future” by a number of authors, three books of “The modern philosophical discourse” series — “Islamic civilization. Past and Present”, “Islamophobia”, “Modern Iranian Culture”.

Apart from that, the Sadra publishing house with the support of the Islamic Culture Research Foundation launched the first series of the children’s books — “Persian tales”.

The exhibition visitors could look through and buy two tales from the “Shahnameh series” — “The first king in the world” and “Rustam and Suhrab” (for children aged 12+), and two tales from the “Shekarestan” series — “White Ear, Black Tail and others” and “Uncle Nawruz and forty thieves” (for children aged 6+).

On Saturday a famous singer and actress, Lyubov Kazarnovskaya, visited the booth of the Islamic Culture Research Foundation and the Sadra publishing house. Besides, head of the general directorate of international book exhibitions and fairs, organizer of the MIBF 2016, Sergei Kaykin, director of the Biblioglobus trading house Boris Esenkin, deputy Ambassador of Iran Ahmad Heidariyan, director of the Kazakhstan National Library Zhanat Seydumanov also visited the booth. Archimandrite Dionisiy Shlenov also came to buy a few books on Islamic culture.

The 10th September was announced the day of Iran at the MIBF 2016. Therefore, the Islamic Culture Research Foundation and the Sadra publishing house presented the books devoted to Iran, namely “Persia: the history of undiscovered land” by A.B. Gromov and S.N. Tabai and “Iran: country and people” by A. Hatami.

It should be mentioned that the books of the Islamic Culture Research Foundation and the Sadra publishing house were in great demand, especially the books related to education and family in Islam, Islamic arts, Islamic philosophy, as well as novels of contemporary Iranian writers and children’s books.
