Yesterday, on 11 November, a meeting with Hamid-Reza Kelichkani, general director of the Tehran Art Gallery and author of about 30 academic works on calligraphy, took place in the Russian State Library.
He delivered a lecture on the history of calligraphy and contemporary Iranian calligraphy and conducted a workshop, where he explained the differences between nastaliq and thuluth scripts. The workshop was followed by the "Tochka" documentary. A small-scale book exhibition featuring the speaker's book — "Iranian calligraphy. Introduction to the tradition" — was also held at the same venue.
The event was attended my Mtr. Heydariyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, who delivered a welcome speech.
