Yesterday, on June, 21 the event "The Mystery and Charm of Iranian Music" took place at the Biblio-Globus Trade House. The event was organized by the Cultural Mission of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, During the event the following books were presented: "History and Anthropology of Music of the Muslim World: Regional Traditions" (2023) and "Music in the Context of Islam: Iranian traditions" (2018), which were prepared by Tamila Jani-zade (PhD in Art History and Associate Professor of the Department of Music History at the Gnesinsins Russian Academy) and Sadra publishing house with the support of the Ibn Sina Foundation.
Boris Yesenkin, President of Biblio-Globus Trade House, delivered an opening speech, where he stressed the importance of studying the Muslim culture. He thanked the organizer of the event, as well as the Ibn Sina Foundation and the Sadra publishing house for their support. Amir Khatai, an Iranian teacher and musician, presented traditional Iranian music. Tamila Jani-zadeh presented two musical collections of Muslim countries. She spoke about the activities of Ibn Sina Foundation and praised its contribution to the studies of Islamic culture. Ms Hamdiye, member of the Cultural Mission under the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, also delivered a speech.
The event ended with traditional Iranian music performed by Ali Fallah (piano) and Amir Khatai (santoor).
