On the 17th of April 2024 a presentation of two volume “Healing and Theology” by Ibn Sina translated by Tawfiq Ibrahim took place at the Oriental Cultural Centre of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Vitaly Vyacheslavovich Naumkin, the scientific head of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Kazem Jalali, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia; Alikber Kalabekovich Alikberov, the director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Masoud Ahmadvand, the head of the Cultural Representative at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran; Seyyed Nasser Tabaei, the general director of “Sadra” Publishing House; Tawfiq Ibrahim, two volume’s translator, the leading research scholar of the Centre of Arabic and Islamic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Islam Amirovich Zaripov, the Imam-khatib of Moscow Cathedral Mosque spoke at the event. The scientific director of Ibn Sina Foundation Andrei Alexandrovich Lukashev introduced the greeting by Nour Serikovich Kiribaev, a professor of the Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship, dedicated to the presentation of two volume. Santour music played by Amir Khataei and Kemanchi music played by Mohammad Baharvand accompanied with Hesam Naseri’s singing also presented at the event. The presentation was hosted by Lana Mejidovna Ravandi-Fadaei who is a head or the Oriental Cultural Centre of the Institute Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The respected speakers reflected on the importance of Ibn Sina’s figure for the world civilization; they also pointed to his hard work and creativity. Ibn Sina was a genuine polymath who was involved both to medical and philosophic work.
An exhibition of Ibn Sina Foundation’s and “Sadra”’s books was also held at the hall of the Oriental Cultural Centre of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Guests enjoyed a possibility to get acquainted with Foundation’s books on Islamic philosophy, Oriental and Islamic studies, the history of Muslim countries and Oriental art.
A buffet with Iranian drinks and sweets was arranged at the end of the event.
