On the 27th of April a small conference dedicated to “Family Values of Central Asian Nations” was organized at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the participation of Ibn Sina Foundation.
The scientific director of Ibn Sina Foundation Andrei Alexandrovich Lukashev delivered a report “Family Values as the Part of Abrahamic Tradition: the Experience of Iran”. The main propose of the report that traditional values that are now common in Russia are shared with other representatives of the whole Abrahamic tradition. Particularly, the value of marriage and childbirth are common both for Christianity and Islam. We can witness it in sermons of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khamenei who pays a special attention to the importance of early marriage and the problem of a big dowry (mahr) as an obstacle for creating a family in a young age.
The Head of the Department of Oriental History of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Dmitrievich Vasiliev; a Senior Researcher of the Institute of Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan Studies of the Siberian Department of the Russian Academy of Studies Vladimir Vladimirovich Tishin; an Associate Professor of the Department of State Legal Disciplines of the High School of Law of the Russian President’s Institute of State Service and Management of the Russian Academy of the National Economy and State Service Talgat Duisenbievich Myktybaev; the Head of the Central Asian, Caucasian and Ural-Volga Studies Sector Igor Sergeevich Savin; an Associate Professor of the Department of Linguistics of the State University “The High School of Economics” Khurshed Davronovich Khamrakulov also delivered their speeches at the conference.
