On 30 January 2018 Hamid Hadavimogaddam, President of the Islamic Culture Research Foundation, met Yefim Rezvan, deputy director of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera), and Andrey Golovnev, director of the Museum and a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
During the meeting the President of the Foundation said: “The Kunstkamera is one of the oldest existing scientific centres in Russia, no wonder that its building is a symbol of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Being a museum and scientific centre, the Kunstkamera features an extremely vast collection of Islamic art items. We are very happy to cooperate with world-class experts who work there”.
The parties discussed the areas of further work on joint projects related to the Qur’anic research and possible media projects, cooperation in developing the International Islamic Research Centre of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera), as well as participation in organizing exhibitions and expeditions.
In 2017, the Islamic Culture Research Foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary. It has strong scientific ties with most centres of Islamic studies in Russia.
