“The Wish Jug” is the fourth collection of proverbs in the Persian Tales series. It was compiled by the Iranian writer Mojgan Sheikhi and features the most famous stories from "Kalila and Dimna" translated into Russian by S.A. Tarasova and edited by N.I. Prigarina

The main characters of “Kalila and Dimna” were born in ancient India. The book is about two intelligent jackals who have conversations and tell different stories about people and animals.

"Kalila and Dimna" quickly became popular not only in India but also in neighbouring countries. Both Persians and Arabs enjoyed reading it for many centuries, and it is now available to Russian-speaking readers.

The collection was prepared by the Sadra publishing house with the support of Ibn Sina Foundation and assistance of the Hayyam Cultural Centre.
